SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
There are no sign ups for this round of Sunday School
Classes, just show up!
Pure in Heart: This
class will work to help men wrestle through the reality of sexual sins while also
focusing on the promises of God. Understanding the power of the Holy Spirit and
the intercessory work of Jesus on our behalf will allow believers to encourage
one another as the body of Christ, seeking to be holy. This Sunday’s topic will
be: The Promise of Purity: Passion, Enemies, and Fallout and will be led by Matt
Trumbull. (Classroom 1)
Mama Bear Apologetics:
This class is for not only moms, but for all women. Join a group of ladies as
they seek to understand how to empower kids to challenge the cultural lies of
this world. God has given moms and women the responsibility to speak biblical
truths to their children so that they can be holy, just as He is holy. (Classroom
4)
God Given: God’s Plan for Gender and Sexuality: We
live in a world that is deeply confused about sexuality and gender. As
Christians, we have an opportunity to speak truth on these subjects that are
vitally important to our lives and identity. Over the next 8 weeks, we are
tackling these questions through "God Given: God's Plan for Gender &
Sexuality". Through this Sunday School class, we will look at the biblical
origins of gender & sexuality, as well as discuss their purposes as God
intended them. Finally, we will examine how the world has erred on these
subjects, and how Christians should respond. This class will be taught by
Pastor Stuart. (Sanctuary)
New Members Class:
The class will be taught by Zane and Sandy Patalive and will run for the next 3
weeks. (Classroom 3)
SUNDAY LUNCHES FOR
YOUNG ADULTS/FAMILIES
The young adults
and families are invited out to the Mays’ (416 E Bald Eagle St, Lock Haven) after
church this week for lunch and time together. Lunch is not provided this week
so please bring your own lunch this week. If you have any questions, contact Stuart
at 717-517-6523
WORKDAY
There is a workday coming up this Saturday,
September 17th here at Big Woods Bible Church that is open for men
and women. The workday will start at 8 a.m. with a breakfast, followed by our
work projects that include cutting up logs, burning the brush pile, moving the
stage, painting the workshop floor, mounting shelves and a whole page of other
projects! Please RSVP here so that we know how many to expect.
GRIEF SHARE
Grief Share is a 13-week group aimed
to help you face the challenges of grief after losing a loved one. During the
sessions, we will focus on the hope and healing that is found in the truth
offered through gospel. If you are interested in joining us, you can still sign
up and register by contacting Wendy Boger at bogerwl@gmail.com. Sign up link: https://www.griefshare.org/groups/153257
PRAYER
GATHERING
Join us on Wednesday, September 21 at 6:30 p.m. for our next
Prayer Gathering. This prayer gathering will be every other
Wednesday and will be one of the ways we can bear one another’s burdens as we
seek to faithfully follow Jesus together.
GREETER MINISTRY LUNCH
After Sunday School on Sunday September 25,
2022, around 12pm, there will be a lunch at the Cygan home (121 Winding Lane, Lock
Haven) for all those in greeter ministry or who are interested in greeter
ministry. If you have any questions about Greeter Ministry or just want to know
more, please contact Tyler Cygan at 570-932-0848.
CHILDCARE CLEARANCE ASSISTANCE
Here at Big Woods, we value the safety of
our children and youth. Therefore, to serve in these ministries, volunteers
need to complete three different clearances. We understand that this process
can be tricky to navigate so after church on Sunday September 25th and October 2nd we will have laptops set up in the lobby
with a few helpers nearby so that we can help make this clearance process go
smoothly. If you are interested in serving in Children or Youth Ministry,
please stop by after church so that we can help you fill out your clearance
paperwork! If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Stuart at
717-517-6523
TEACHING LAB
In Ephesians 4:11, we learn that God has
given the church teachers to build up the body of Christ. Teaching lab exists
to help us find those whom God has given to our body. If you would like to
learn about teaching and have the opportunity to teach in a setting that
provides feedback to see if God has gifted you to serve in this way, join us
Monday, September 26 at 6:00 p.m. here at the church in Classroom 1.
PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER 5K
The Pregnancy Resource Center is doing a 5K
& 10-mile Bike Ride on October 1, 2022 from 8am-12pm in State College! If
you want to participate or support someone who is, please go sign up here
on their website! For more information about this event or the PRC in general,

Christ.
