This Week's Need to Know
THIS WEEK’S TEXT: “Understanding the Truth About the
Enemy” 2 Corinthians 2:11
Taught by: Pastor Tim Boger
SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
There are no sign ups for this round of Sunday School Classes, just show up!
The Attributes of God: Misconceptions about God abound. But they don't have to. God has revealed His character in Scripture, illuminating the attributes that define Him. While we, being finite creatures, can never truly comprehend everything that God is, we should study what He Himself has said. This week’s class will include the introduction and topic of Aseity led by Pastor Aaron. (Classroom 1)
Mama Bear Apologetics: Empowering Your Kids to Challenge Cultural Lies: This class is intended for all women; you don't have to be a mother to benefit from it! There is no denying that today's youth are leaving the church in droves. We do not live in a culturally Christian society. In fact, we live in a society that is increasingly hostile toward Christianity. Whether you use public school, Christian school, or homeschool, your kids will be exposed to various philosophies and worldviews that are contrary to Christianity. Come to this class to learn about some of the loudest lies culture is screaming at your kids and how to approach their questions.
This class will be taught by a group of ladies who are mothers in varying ages, stages, and styles, but we all recognize the importance of training the next generation to be critical thinkers and challenge cultural lies. This week’s topic is Emotionalism led by Tara Newman. (Classroom 4)
2 Thessalonians: While We Wait: The elders will be team-teaching this book in the sanctuary. We will focus on what it looks like to live as Christians "while we wait" for the return of Jesus. How should that affect our daily lives? Join us as we consider God's word together "while we wait" for the return of Jesus! This week’s topic is an introduction to the book! (Sanctuary)

ADVENTURES IN MOTHERHOOD
Adventures in Motherhood, AIM, is a faith-based ministry for moms of children ages 0-18 to come connect, grow, and fellowship together. Motherhood is wonderful but comes with unique challenges and can be isolating at times. Christian moms are called to bear one another’s burdens and consider who to stir one another up to love and good works. This is what we hope to do through this ministry- to provide a community to grow and be encouraged in our role as faithful Christian mothers. The group will meet every other Thursday, alternating mornings (10:30a-12:00p) and evenings (7:00-8:30p). Morning meetings will have childcare provided. If you have any questions, please reach out to our AIM coordinators, Jillian Best, firstname.lastname@example.org, and Cheyenne Redcay, email@example.com
MEN’S GARAGE MINISTRY
On Thursday, November 3 at 6:00 p.m., all men will be invited to meet at the garage of Dave Frankenberger (1930 Long Run Road, Mill Hall). Men, grab a chair and come prepared to talk shop and tackle life’s challenges, while building on the strengths of your brothers in Christ.
Women’s prayer, which is held one Saturday morning a month, is a very special time of encouragement. Please join us Saturday, November 5th from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. You will hear a personal story of a life changed by faith in Jesus Chris, followed by the opportunity to join a prayer with other ladies. Come and enjoy some coffee and a great time of sharing!
Grief Share is a 13-week group aimed to help you face the challenges of grief after losing a loved one. During the sessions, we will focus on the hope and healing that is found in the truth offered through gospel. If you are interested in joining us, you can still sign up and register by contacting Wendy Boger at firstname.lastname@example.org. Sign up link: https://www.griefshare.org/groups/153257
This will be an evening for women of all ages to come together to relax, refresh, and be encouraged. The theme, "Creating a Space" centers on hospitality and how to use our gifts and homes to minister God's grace to others. There will be worship, breakout sessions, a hot drink and dessert bar, and devotional time from Wendy Boger. All this and more Saturday Nov 12th from 6-9pm. Register at autumn.bigwoods.org
