This Week’s Need to Know – 3/23/2017

A very well known contemporary leader stated, “You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”  As Christians, we understand that we need firstly, to be reading the Word, and secondly, strengthening our faith through good preaching, teaching, and books.  That’s why we have a book table – to help guide you to good materiel that will help strengthen your faith.  I hope you’ll take advantage of our book table to help you grow in your faith.  Here’s a list of a few of the books available:

The Truth of the Cross – R.C. Sproul
What Is the Gospel? – Greg Gilbert
Church Membership – Jonathan Leeman
Transforming Grace – Jerry Bridges
Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life – Donald S. Whitney

This month’s featured book is, Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart: How to Know For Sure You Are Saved, written by J.D. Greear.  This has been a very popular book.  If you can’t find it at our table, you can purchase it online here.

Sundays are for Spiritual Growth
Along with great preaching in our current Marked for A Mission sermon series by Pastor Tim, we have two incredible choices for you during the 9:30 AM Sunday school hour.  Mark Loewen is teaching Evangelism from the Ground Up in the auditorium, and Pastor Aaron is teaching Deadly Doctrines downstairs in B1.  Make sure you are a part of one of these classes.  They will be a wonderful benefit to your spiritual growth.

Winter Jam
Navigate Students are headed to Winter Jam on Friday!  Here’s what you need to know:

-Meet at the church at 3:45 PM
-Bring a bag supper
-Cost per person is $10
-Parents – your students will be back late (midnight or later).  We will call you when we’re on the way back so you can meet us at the church for pick up.

If you have any other questions regarding Winter Jam, please feel free to contact Pastor Stuart.

Welcome Rut Chamale
Make plans to be here on Sunday, April 8th, when we will hear from the Vision Trust National Director to Guatemala, Rut Chamale.  She is an integral part of the group we work with each year when we send a team to the Cruz Blanca Learning Center.  Rut will share what the Cruz Blanca Learning Center does for the children of Guatemala and how we have helped them with the ongoing mission of educating children and sharing the Gospel with them and their families.  Click here to learn more about Rut, and how God prepared her for this much needed ministry to the children and families of Guatemala.
