THIS WEEK’S TEXT: Mark 10:13-16 – A Child Like Faith
Taught By: Pastor Stuart
We have two great outreach events happening this month. First, our Pancake Night will be on Wednesday evening, December 11. It will run from 11 PM until 1 AM the next morning. This has become a widely anticipated event by the students. We’re able to feed them late at night while they are cramming with finals and have opportunity to have purposeful conversations with many that attend, sharing with them the good news of Jesus’ love for them. You can help in several ways:
-Help cook pancakes (before the event and during the event)
-Be on site to help serve, take out trash, etc.
-Be on site to have conversations with the students present
-Donate Just Add Water pancake mixes and/or syrup
If you can help on the day of the event, please contact Melissa Varholak (firstname.lastname@example.org).
We will also be hosting a Parent’s Night Out event on Saturday, December 14, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Volunteers from Big Woods will be providing childcare for kids, ages 6 months to 12 years old. We will provide food, fun, and everyone will watch the Christmas Movie, The Star. There are limited spaces available. You must RSVP at email@example.com. We also need volunteers to help us provide childcare. If you can help, please contact Jenn Braun (firstname.lastname@example.org) today!
GUATEMALA INFORMATION MEETING
Mark your calendars, December 15, will be our 2020 Guatemala Missions Information Meeting. If you are at all interested in being on this team, you need to be present at this meeting. Lunch will be provided. For more information, contact Adrienne Johnston (email@example.com).
If your child attends Children’s Church or is in preschool – 5th grade Sunday school we would like to invite you to be part of a children’s special music time. Starting December 1, we will practice from 10:20-10:40. Those children that don’t attend Children’s Church are asked to come to the Children’s Church classroom at 10:20. Children that leave after church will be taken to the pickup room at 10:40.
If you don’t stay for Sunday School and don’t plan for your child to stay for music please use a pen and write “no music” on your child’s tag. This will let the Children’s Church workers know to bring your child over at the normal time.
We will be singing Away In a Manger. The lyrics are included so your child can practice at home.
The children will sing for the church congregation on Sunday, December 22, during the service. Your child may still participate in the singing time even if they will not be here on the December 22.
If you have any questions you can contact Nicole Lavallee at (570) 660-8600.
