This Week’s Need to Know – 11/10/2017

We are excited to announce that Big Woods is sending 222 shoeboxes packed with gifts and a clear gospel presentation to kids around the world.  Thank you to everyone who participated.  This ministry opportunity continues to grow and we’re happy to be able to work with Samaritan’s Purse to help kids learn about Jesus at Christmas time. We have a few extra days before the packages have to be shipped.  If you would like to help us, please consider underwriting the cost of shipping a shoebox.  Each box costs $9 to ship.  We’re sending 222 boxes, which is close to $2,000 needed to offset the shipping cost.  If you would like to help with this, simply make a donation in the offering or drop of your donation at the church office.  Be sure to designate your gift for Operation Christmas Child or “OCC.”

Thank You
The pastors would like to express our thanks for all the cards and gifts given to us last month.  It is a joy to serve the body of Big Woods, and we count ourselves blessed to take part in ministry for God’s kingdom with you.

Choir for Christmas Eve Service
Laura Leslie will be directing a choir for the Christmas Eve Service (we especially need men!). If you like to sing and are interested in participating, please email or text Laura Leslie by no later than November 12. This will allow sufficient time to order music.

November Women’s Prayer Breakfast
The November Women’s Prayer Breakfast will be held on Saturday, November 18, from 9:00-10:30 am at the home of Leticia Koch.  Please indicate if you are interested in car pooling. We will be continuing our Fruit of the Spirit theme, with a focus on self-control, during our devotional time. If you plan to attend, please sign up online or downstairs in the Fellowship Area. There is a food
sign up, as well, if you would like to bring a dish to share. For additional information, contact Laurie Troyer.
