As we enter November, the month of Thanksgiving, I trust you can echo the words of the psalmist in Psalm 100 when he writes,
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
The pastoral staff would like to express our gratitude for all the cards, gifts, and words of encouragement you have given us this month. We all count it a great joy and privilege to serve the cause of Christ at Big Woods Bible Church. We love you and look forward with anticipation for what God is doing through his people here in Lock Haven and beyond.
We are excited to announce two new Sunday Morning Bible Studies for the end of 2016. Theology of the Gospel will begin on Sunday, November 6th, and meet downstairs in Room B1. Theology of the Gospel intends to embolden Christ-followers to engage a waiting world with this incredible message of hope. Pastor Aaron Batdorf will be teaching this class. Pastor Tim and Wendy Boger will be teaching a class beginning on Sunday, November 13th, entitled, Parenting Isn’t for Pushovers: Learning How to Love Your Kids Enough to Say No.” This class will meet in the sanctuary at 9:30 am. Topics will include relationship building, learning how to get your kids to listen, and dealing with technology. A question and answer session will be held during each class, so please bring your questions each week Be sure to invite your friends and neighbors to this practical and relevant class.
We have just eleven more days until our Operation Christmas Child gift drive is “wrapped up.” This is an incredible way to share God’s love with kids and share a clear Gospel message. You can pick up “shoeboxes” downstairs in the Fellowship Area. There are gift guides available here or you can click here for more information. Cash donations to help purchase more items or to help with shipping can be placed in the offering or dropped off at the church office. Please designate your gift as “Operation Christmas Child.”
I hope to see you on Sunday as we enjoy a wonderful time of worship and fellowship.
