ANNUAL MEETING
Our annual meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, at 6:00 PM.  If you are an active member of Big Woods, this is an important event on our calendar.  We have several positions for a vote of affirmation from the body including:

DEACON (3 year term): Rob Felmlee, Phil Leslie, Denny Marconi, Billy Powell, David Gray, Tom McCormick
TRUSTEE (3 year term): Gary Barrett
TREASURER (2 year term): Tom Stover
MODERATOR (1 year term): Drew Talbot
CHURCH CLERK (2 year term): Lori Bechdel

Copies of the proposed 2020 budget are available on the table in the back of the auditorium.

We will have two proposed bylaw updates for 2020:

1.) Address change to 241 S. Hanna St. Lock Haven, PA 17745
2.) Adding the following language in order to quickly fill an office in the event it is vacated:

In the event a church officer – Elder, Deacon/Deaconess, Trustee, Moderator, Treasurer, Church Clerk – cannot complete the term of office, the Elder Board, at their discretion, may appoint an interim officer to fulfill the rest of the term, or serve until the next annual business meeting, whichever comes first.

RECOVERY MINISTRY CHANGE
Tonight will be the last Thursday evening Recovery meeting for 2019.  Matt McDermit will be teaching a class on Sunday mornings in the auditorium called Overcoming Habitual Sin.  Whether it be stress eating, gossiping, abuse of alcohol or controlled substances, we all struggle somewhere with what Scripture calls a besetting sin.  Many of us carry the hurts and pains of a past which haunts us due to being hurt by others.  In this Sunday school class, starting November 10, Matt will guide us through Scripture to understand how we are dead to sin and the freedom that leads to in our daily lives.  If you have been struggling to break free from a particular cycle of sin in you rlife, please join us. The class, Overcoming Habitual Sin, will deal with the difficult patterns of sin that many believers battle and will provide hope, rooted in the Gospel, to those who have been stuck in the insanity cycle of sin.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
It’s November, which means it’s time to begin collecting gifts for our annual Operation Christmas Child.  These gifts go around the world to kids everywhere.  Along with the gifts, a Gospel presentation is given along with a call to a disciple relationship with Jesus for the children and families involved.  For gift suggestions, click the link above or you can give toward the postage needs (approximately $7/box) by designating your gift for this in any of our offerings or give online using the Operation Christmas Child designation box.

MEN’S BREAKFAST
This Saturday morning at 8:00 at the Big Woods church building, the guys will be meeting for breakfast for a time of fellowship, testimony, devotional from God’s word, and prayer. Susi Gray (and crew) will be providing the breakfast.

WORK DAY
We have several things to work on outside as we prepare for the season change.  Work day will be on Saturday, November 16, from 8:00 AM – Noon.  Bring your gloves, and a good pair of work books as we clean up, pick up, cut down, and take care of the wonderful campus God has provided for us.
