This Week’s Need to Know – 10/18/2018

This Sunday we will focus on The Affections of Joy.  Our scripture reference is Philippians 1:7-11.  Don’t forget, our services start at 9:00 AM and we will have Sunday school starting after the worship service at 10:45.  If you have children, please drop them off no earlier than 10:40 at their Sunday school class on Sundays.  The adult class will meet in the auditorium, and Pastor Aaron will be finishing the series on Jude.  Please allow the deacons to guide you into parking as we continue to adjust to our new place of worship.  If you need to drop someone off at the front entrance, please feel free to do so.  Also, we have limited handicap parking at the back entrance.  There is still much work to do outside the building, so thank you for your patience with us during this time of adjustment.

On Sunday, October 28, we will be hosting a special open house service and fall festival.  Thank you to everyone that has volunteered to serve.  There are still need a few things we need for the event.  They are listed below.  If you can help with any of these, please drop them off at the church office any time before Saturday, 10/27, or contact Melissa Varholak at

  • Candy, lots of candy – Starbursts, Smarties, and Skittles and other types of candy that are free of very common allergens (i.e. nut allergies)
  • 2 generators – these are just back-up for the bounce houses if we need them
  • Square pop-up tents (the approx 12×12 ones, not camping ones) – It would help tremendously if we could borrow several of these
Please be sure to invite your friends, coworkers, and neighbors.  Fliers are available at either one of the main entrances.  You can also share our Facebook Event page on your social media wall.  Lift up our community in prayer, and ask God to help us share His love, and open doors to share the Gospel with many.
Mark your calendar for our next business meeting.  It will be held on Sunday night, November 4, at 6:30 PM.  It’s an important time to review where we are as a church, an opportunity to for you to share with the elders and the body your thoughts, and vote on items such as the next year’s budget as well as open office positions.
We will have an ongoing need for help in the new building.  If you can help us by vacuuming the auditorium, then please bring your vacuum any time on Friday and choose a section.  Thanks for serving the body and our Savior by helping with this.
