This Week’s Need to Know – 10/01/2020

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
-Colossians 1:28

THIS WEEK’S TEXT: Exodus 32-34 – God in the Heart
Taught By: Dan Nauta

As we move deeper into the fall season and the temperatures drop, we will inevitably need to move our services back indoors.  We will begin indoor services on October 11.  Our service time will still be at 9:00 AM, and there will be one service.  We will still have Children’s Church, and it will follow our current format for the time being.  Kids will be in the worship service, will be called up for a special kid’s sermon with Pastor Tim, and then be dismissed to Children’s Church.  Parent’s will need to use the check in system and get a sticker for their children.  We will have people to help guide you through this process at our services.  Masks and hand sanitizer will be available at all services.  We request people wear masks while moving about the building and maintain social distancing.  Masks may be removed at your discretion once you are seated.  Seats have been spread out to allow families to sit together and maintain social distancing protocols while seated.  If you or a member of your immediate family is feeling sick, we do ask that you refrain from attending.  Services will still be streamed live on our Facebook page.  As we have learned in this season, there are always mitigating factors that may necessitate we make changes, though we will work to maintain as much consistency as possible.  Thank you for your patience and help as we continue to worship in community together in these trying times.

Now that we are moving back indoors, it is a great opportunity to get involved in ministry.  There are a variety of opportunities – all the way from helping to serve coffee to teaching children in Sunday school.  You can click here to see what opportunities are available.  Be sure to check off every ministry about which you would like to learn.  Once you submit the form, someone will be in touch with you to talk about how you can serve in the ministries you have selected.  If you have any other questions, you can send them directly to Pastor Josh at

We’ll partner with the State College Pregnancy Resource Center this fall with their Baby Bottle Blessings fundraiser. All you’ll need to do is pick up a Bottle at our Sunday service, take it home, fill it with money or a check made out to Pregnancy Resource Center, and return it by no later than Sunday, November 8. You can also make a secure donation at their website at Thanks for partnering with us in this vital ministry not only to preserve life, but to lead people to the abundant life that can only be found in the Gospel.

Women of Big Woods are invited to a special prayer meeting at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, at the church.  Come spend time in fellowship and prayer together.  Masks can be worn at your discretion.  Coffee and light refreshments will be served.  For more information, contact Nicole Lavallee or Michelle Rosypal.
