This Week’s Need to Know – 08/10/2017

It’s hard to believe that it’s time to start signing up for Home Groups.  This year, we will be studying the book of Hebrews, which makes clear that Jesus exceeds all people, pursuits, objects, or hopes we offer allegiance to.  We will learn why Jesus is better than the best!  You will find a post it note in your bulletin this Sunday and can use it to sign up.  If you know what day you would like to attend, just put your name and contact information on that note and place it on the poster board in the sanctuary that corresponds to the day that works best for you.  You can also click here and sign up online.  We’re looking forward to another great year as we seek to grow, together.

Back Yard BBQ
This week’s Back Yard BBQ will be held at the home of Joshua & Christa Hamilton.  You can find directions to their home on our online church directory.  Please note that the BBQ will be cancelled if it rains.  Bring your own meat for the grill, a chair, and a side to share!

Kayak Adventure
The kayak trip will begin at the McCormicks’ house which is located at 100 Ramsey Dr. in Jersey Shore (the house is the first one on the right entering Ramsey Village) at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 13th.  You may meet at the Bradys’  house at 1:30 PM to drop off any food for the picnic and to try to consolidate people and kayaks to limit the amount of vehicles we will have to retrieve after the trip. We have extra kayaks so don’t let that keep you from the fun and fellowship.  Please contact Yuri Rosypal with any questions or to reserve a kayak.

Baby Dedication
There will be a baby dedication on Sunday, August 20th during the second service.  If you would like to participate, please contact the church office at (570) 893-8274 or by email to learn more information.

Baptism Service
There will be a baptism service immediately following the second service on Sunday, August 27th at the Johnson’s river lot at Riverview Park.  If you are interested in being baptized, please fill out the tear-off portion and place it in the offering or contact the church office.
