This Week’s Need to Know – 07/30/2020

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
-Colossians 1:28

THIS WEEK’S TEXT: II Corinthians 4:13-15It’s Going to Get Tough, Remain Faithful
Taught By:  Pastor Josh

Even though it’s been hot, we’ve been blessed with clear skies on Sundays for our outdoor worship services.  The plan is to continue these for the time being unless there is inclement weather.  Right now, the forecast is calling for a little rain on Sunday morning.  If for some reason we are not able to have our services outside due to rain, we will have one service at 9:00 AM in the auditorium.  Seats have been spaced out, masks are available for those that would like them, and the building has been kept clean and sanitized during the week.  We will be monitoring the weather and make a decision as well as communicate that decision via email, text and Facebook by no later than 7:00 AM on Sunday.  Services will also be live streamed on our Facebook page for those that would rather join us that way.  Pray for continued good weather this Sunday as we seek to worship corporately in these challenging times.

Pregnancy Resource Center is in need of some supplies to help bless parents in our community.  The specifically need diapers (sizes newborn, 2, 4, 5), or gift cards to Walmart, Weis, or Sheetz.  If you would like to help PRC meet this need, you can drop off your donations at the following locations:

    • Monday-Friday, 7am-9pm
    • Saturday, 8am-9pm
    • Please let the employee know you are dropping off a donation for Pregnancy Resource Clinic.
  • First Baptist Church: 210 N Vesper Street in Lock Haven
    • Wednesday, August 5th, 9am – 1pm
    • Please come to the Vesper Street entrance (Church Office).

We’re just one week away from our August Family Movie Nights!  Make sure you Like & Share our Facebook Event page to help spread the word!  More information can be found there about the event.  You can help us in one of two ways:  First, you can donate movie box candy or you can volunteer to help serve at one of these events.  We’re looking for about 6 people to help at each event with passing out candy, greeting people and engaging them in conversations, answering questions and helping them feel welcome at Big Woods.  If you can help on one or more nights (August 7, 14, 21, 28), then click here and sign up today!  For more information, contact Pastor Josh at

Please be in prayer about our special offering on Sunday, September 13.  We are setting aside that day for a one-time offering with the purpose of paying down the principal of the bridge loan.  Do pray and ask God what he would have you give toward this offering, and give only as he leads and provides.  If you would like more information about this, please contact Pastor Josh at
