This Week’s Need to Know – 06/06/2019

This Sunday’s Text: Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Our next baptism service is scheduled on Sunday, June 23.  If you are interested in being baptized, please fill out a Communication Card at any of our Sunday services or contact the church office.

It’s summer, and at Big Woods, that means Backyard BBQs.  These will begin on July 8 and go through August 12.  If you would like to host an event, click here and sign up today!  All paper/plastic products (plates, napkins, cups, utensils, etc.) will be provided by the host along with condiments, drinks, and a grill for cooking.  You’ll need to bring your own meat, a side dish to share, and it is recommended you bring your own chair as well.

This Sunday is the first Summer Sunday, and that means we are taking a break from home groups.  We hope you had a wonderful experience in your home group this past year and that you grew closer in relationship to not only one another, but with our Savior as well.  We rely on your feedback to help us as we tweak, adjust, and relaunch this vital ministry each year.  Please take a few moments to fill out this short survey about your experience in home groups.  Thanks for helping us as we seek to serve you best!

We praise God for the provision of our new building and all the blessings it brings.  However, it is still a work in process.  Part of that work will come when we renovate the current garage and basement into the future home of Navigate Youth Ministry.  For the time being, Navigate is using the MPR as its central gathering area.  The high school is using it for Sunday school and all students are meeting there for the Wednesday night gatherings.  We still want to make this room available to others, but please make sure if you would like to schedule the room, to do so through Pastor Stuart.  He will let you know if the room is available as well as walk groups through what to do to leave is ready for the next youth event.  You can contact him at or call the church office at 570-893-8274.  Thank you for your understanding and help during this extended transition time.

Mark your calendars, the next Red Cross Blood Drive will happen here on Saturday, June 29, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.  To schedule an appointment, visit or call 1-800-733-2767.
