This Week’s Need to Know 05/17/2018

This Sunday, Central Mountain High School is having their Baccalaureate Ceremony, which Pastor Tim as well as one of our own students, Rachel Weaver, will be speaking at. Instead of our regular High School Navigate gathering, we will be heading to the ceremony. Afterwards, students are invited to Scott & Amy Weaver’s house (231 Eagleville Road, Blanchard PA) for food and fellowship. The ceremony starts at 4:00 PM.  Please contact Pastor Stuart ( if your student will need a ride from the ceremony to the Weavers.

Even though we live in an age that celebrates autonomy and independence, as Christians, we must learn to live dependent upon Christ and one another. For many this is hard, but thankfully, the local church is the place and the means by which this glorious dependence should occur. R.C.  Sproul said, “Every time Christ saves an individual, He places him in a group. There is a corporate dimension to the kingdom of God that we must not overlook.” Today, more than ever, we need to learn the Christian life is a community. Come, listen and see how Christ places His redeemed people in the church to learn together, grow together, serve together and worship together.  Join us on Sunday as we begin this important series in the life of the body at Big Woods.

On Saturday, June 2, there will be a Yard Sale held at the church to benefit the Guatemala Missions Trip.  You can support the 2018 Guatemala Mission Team by donating gently used clothing (all sizes) and household items (no TVs please). Donated items can be placed in the back part of the Fellowship Area beginning Sunday, May 27. If you have larger items that you need help to transport, please contact any member of the team or the church office.

Pregnancy Resource Clinic (PRC) exists to educate, encourage, and empower men and women to make informed life choices.  Walking through a life-altering decision is not easy, but it is why we exist. Our clients come from many walks of life and with many different stories. We give each client the care and attention they need to not only ensure that they are educated and encouraged, but also empowered to make informed choices. We desire that our clients know that we genuinely care about them and that Pregnancy Resource Clinic receives no financial gain from their decisions. Our desire to help you is based on Christian principles and values.  Big Woods happily supports both the mission and work of PRC.  They have a proven track record of both saving lives, and seeing lives eternally changed through the power of the Gospel.  If you would like to support PRC, make sure you pick up a bottle, fill it with change and return it to Big Woods on Father’s Day, June 17.  You can also give using our online giving page or download the Give+ app and use your iPhone or Android smartphone to make a donation to PRC through Big Woods.
