Sunday’s sermon will look at where we find true contentment in a world that tells us we need more, we need the latest, and we need it yesterday. Take time to read through and meditate on Philippians 4:10-13 to prepare for our next look at Real Joy for Real Life.
GUY’S NIGHT OUT
Men of Big Woods, come join us at the River Lot on Tuesday, April 30, for an evening of fellowship and good eats! Dan McCloskey and Denny Marconi will be picking up supplies to make mountain pies. We will need a headcount so we know how much to buy. Mountain pie choices will be pizza, ham and cheese and various fruit fillings. There will also be bottled water and chips. Official start time is 6 PM, but Denny will be there earlier getting things ready if you want to join him. If the weather does not cooperate we will meet at The OIP in Lock Haven. The river lot (lot 11) is directly across the Susquehanna from the Catholic school next to Riverview Park. Please let Denny know if you’ll be going by emailing him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
It’s almost finals again and I think you know what that means! It’s time to serve the students at Lock Have with pancakes. This event is scheduled for May 8. Please pray for good weather and the opportunity to have great conversations that will point people to Jesus. We also need the following: Just add water pancake mixes, syrup, and bags of chocolate chips. A donation box is located in the church lobby. If you would like to help, we have several opportunities available. We need people to make pancakes from 9:15 – 10:15 pm, setup/clean up help, people to make pancakes on site from 11 PM – 1 AM, as well as people to serve and talk with the students. If you’d like to help, please contact Melissa Varholak (email@example.com). Thank you all in advance for your donations, help, and prayers.
We invite you to join us for Secret Church on Friday, April 26, from 6:30 PM – 1:00 AM the next morning. The focus will be on fasting and prayer, and how these spiritual graces help unlock the power of God in the advancement of His Kingdom. If you have questions or need additional information, contact Pastor Aaron at firstname.lastname@example.org or 610-213-1453.
SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS
Thank you to all who have committed to helping in our children’s ministry this summer. We only need two more volunteers: one as a helper in the preschool class (ages 3/4), and one to be a helper in the 2nd/3rd grade class. If you can help, please contact Melissa Varholak at email@example.com. We are also looking for people to assist parents and guests getting their kids checked into the system on Sundays. This is a very important role in helping provide a safe and secure environment for both our kids and parents. All training will be provided. The goal is to have people serve in this spot once every two months. If you can help, please contact Pastor Josh at firstname.lastname@example.org.
