This Week’s Need to Know – 04/11/2019

Our next word in our study of Philippians 4:8 is commendable.  Take some time this week to meditate on the wonderful truths and principles found here.  Make sure to purposefully focus and think on that which can be found described in this verse as you seek to live out your faith in this fallen world.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. – Philippians 4:8

We’re making preparations for a wonderful Easter Weekend at Big Woods.  There will be plenty of opportunities to invite your friends, neighbors, and coworkers to join us for Easter.  We’ll be hosting a Good Friday service at 7:00 PM.  On Saturday, we’ll have an Easter Egg Hunt as well as Easter Story presentation from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.  Also, we hope to pack our auditorium on Sunday for our Easter worship service.  Pick up an invite card from the back table and make sure you share our Facebook Event page.  Ask God to put someone on your heart, pray for them, and invite them today!

Next Sunday, we’ll hear from members of the Christian Motorcycles Association (CMA) during our morning service.  The members of CMA go around the county, state, and country sharing the Gospel wherever they go.  They have a unique ministry and wonderful opportunities to share the love of Jesus.  They will share with us what that looks like and demonstrate how they use opportunities like a Biker Blessing to present the Gospel.  All bikers are invited to meet at the main entrance next Sunday (April 14) following the Sunday school hour for a special prayer of protection.  Everyone is welcome!

We are looking for Summer Sunday school teachers and helpers during the summer months for our kid’s ministry (preschool, K/1st, 2nd/3rd, 4th/5th).  This gives our regular teachers time to take a break and to enjoy taking part in our adult Sunday school classes.  We ask you to commit to the summer months (the 13 weeks of June, July, and August).  All teaching material will be provided for you.  We’ll have a teacher orientation meeting on Sunday, May 5.  If you can be a part of this important summer ministry, please contact Melissa Varholak at

We invite you to join us for Secret Church on Friday, April 26, from 6:30 PM – 1:00 AM the next morning.  The focus will be on fasting and prayer, and how these spiritual graces help unlock the power of God in the advancement of His Kingdom.  If you have questions or need additional information, contact Pastor Aaron at or 610-2123-1453.
