This Week’s Need to Know – 04/08/2018

This Saturday, at 5 PM, you’re invited to a special Soup Supper fundraiser for the 2018 Guatemala Mission Team.  There will be plenty of good food, delicious desserts, and an enjoyable time of fellowship.  If you’re going, please be sure to visit our Facebook Event Page and let us know.  Like our event and share it with your friends as well.   Thanks for your continued support.

This Sunday, we’re back in the book of Jonah.  We’ve seen how God through His sovereignty has mercifully – though sometimes painfully – brought Jonah to the point of obedience.  Next, we’ll look at what God will do in the lives of those living in Nineveh.  Join us at either of our services (8:00 or 10:30 AM).  During the 9:30 AM Sunday school hour, we’ll hear testimonies from the Lock Haven University students that recently went to work with the North American Mission Board Disaster Relief Team in Puerto Rico.

On April 15, Pastor Tim will be launching a new series in Sunday school called Re-Membership.  As members of Christ’s body, we are not called just to gather and listen – we are to live our faith actively, whether it be within our church body or in our community. We’ll focus on what it means to be a member at Big Woods and revisit the five things from Pastor Tim’s Get a Grip series – discipleship, fellowship, worship, stewardship, and workmanship.  Be sure to be here and actively engaged in the class.

Summer is coming, and it’s a great time to relax.  We would like to give our current teachers the opportunity to take those three months off so they can be involved in their own Sunday school class and just take a break.  You can help us by committing to teach or be a classroom helper during the summer months.  If you are interested, please contact Pastor Josh in the church office or Bobby & Melissa Varholak.
