This Week’s Need to Know – 03/15/2018

This Sunday is a very important luncheon for anyone that would like to be involved with our Welcome Team.  If you haven’t signed up yet, please go here and reserve your space today.  Simply enter the password “welcome” and let us know how many will be in attendance so we can plan accordingly.  Even if you’re just interested in learning more about what this ministry is all about, please sign up and come.  Lunch will be provided for all in attendance.  Also, during our Sunday school hour at 9:30 AM, Pastor Tim will be sharing what this team will be doing and why it’s so important.  We’ll also have a Q&A time for continued discussion on what it means to be a welcoming church to our community and how that ties into our mission-and most importantly-to the work of the Gospel.

On Sunday, March 25, there will be a special Q&A time in the new building located at 241 S Hanna St., following the second service.  Scott Heckman will be on site to take your questions, and the building will be open so you can see the continued progress.  It will be a good thing to stop by so you can get an idea of what it’s like to be in the building because we will be holding our Easter service there the following week on April 1.  That will be a combined service at 10:00 AM.  There will be no Sunday school or nursery for that service.  Continue to keep our contractor and workers in your prayers as we work towards completing our new worship facility.

Even though we’re still seeing regular snow flurries, we’re already focused on summer in the Children’s Ministry.  Each summer we like to allow our teachers to take those three months off so they can be involved in Sunday school classes and just take a break.  You can help us by committing to teach or be a classroom helper during the summer months.  If you are interested, please contact Pastor Josh in the church office or Bobby & Melissa Varholak.

Big Woods will be hosting a free webinar directed specifically towards teen girls and young women and common lies the world is telling them and unfortunately many believe. Jenn Braun is hosting this Webinar and wants to invite any young woman/teen who is interested in attending. This webinar is focusing on three out of the twenty-five lies that are in the book Lies Young Women Believe, written by Dana Gresh and Nancy DeMoss. We will meet on Tuesday, March 20, from 6:30-8:30 PM. Location will be either at the church or Jenn Braun will host at her house depending on the amount of interest.  If you are interested please let Jenn know at or 919-452-8598.  Mom’s you are encouraged to attend this with your daughter as well if able!
