Welcome to 2019! We hope all had a blessed time through the Christmas holiday season. This Sunday marks our first service of 2019, and we will continue in our study through Philippians together. This Sunday we will be in Philippians 3:1-11. Take some time to read through and meditate on this passage in preparation for our corporate gathering this Sunday.
PRAISE AND PRAYER NIGHT
Mark your calendars for our next Praise & Prayer Night, which is scheduled for Sunday evening on January 13 at 6:00 o’clock. This will be a special evening of corporate worship together as a body as we thank our Loving Father and Savior for His guidance through our move as well as a time to ask for His guidance into 2019 and beyond. There will also be a presentation from our financial team on our current financial status as well as a time for questions and discussion regarding how we are moving forward.
SUNDAY SCHOOL CHANGES FOR 2019
We have two very exciting changes happening this Sunday. First, we will be starting three new adult classes that will go for the next eight weeks. There will be a marriage class in the conference room taught by Pastor Tim. This class is full, but we will be teaching it regularly, so there will be plenty of future opportunities to attend this class in 2019. Pastor Aaron will be teaching Theology in one of our new adult classrooms. There is still room for a few people to attend that class. The last option is an overview of the book of Titus taught by Matt Trumbull and Kenny Hall in the auditorium.
CHILDREN’S WING OPENS THIS SUNDAY
The new year also begins a new era for the Big Woods Children’s Ministry. Our kids will be in their new permanent home for Sunday school and Children’s Church. Parents are invited for the month of January to walk through the children’s wing and help your kids familiarize themselves with their new learning area. Beginning in February, we will close that area off to anyone except for kids, worker’s that have passed their background checks and clearances, as well as parent’s of babies/toddlers for drop off and pick up.
HOUSE TO HOUSE FELLOWSHIP
As a growing body of believers it is important to have opportunities for relationships to be built with one another. We will follow the example of the early church in the New Testament. Acts 2:46-47 tells us, They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. This Sunday you will hear from Wendy Boger about an opportunity for you to either host a dinner or be a guest in someone’e else home, or both! If you are interested in signing up to be a part of House 2 House click here and come on Sunday to learn more.
We have a work day scheduled for this Saturday morning at 9:00 o’clock. We need trucks and trailers as well as people to help load up some of the last things we have at the old building and bring them over to the new building. Thanks to everyone who can help.
