This Week’s Need to Know – 8/17/2017

Last week we kicked off our sign-up for home groups.  Home groups are the best way for you to get connected to others in the church and a key component to personal growth through Bible study and prayer.  This year, we will study the book of Hebrews and be refreshed by the constant message of how Jesus is better.  On Sunday, you’ll have another opportunity to sign up using a sticky note that can be found in your bulletin.  You may also sign up anytime online by clicking here.  Join us as we seek to grow, together.

THE THEOLOGY OF TECHNOLOGY – STARTING SEPTEMBER 10TH
Technology is the most rapidly shifting areas of society. The iPhone was first released barely 10 years ago, but has dramatically changed our relationships, society, and even the way we spend our personal time. New technology, new devices, and new apps seem to spring up every day. So what are we to do? For 6 weeks, we will be looking at the technology that is changing our lives, their benefits and downfalls, but most importantly how we as Christians need to respond in a way which honors an eternal God.  Join us in the auditorium on Sundays at 9:30 AM for this important and beneficial study.

30 DAYS OF PRAYER
September will be a month dedicated to prayer.  Prayer for one another.  Prayer for our community.  Prayer for our future.  The church building will be open each evening during the month of September at 7:00 PM for anyone to come in and pray.  More information will be coming soon.

BAPTISM & NEW MEMBERS CLASS
Make sure you join us as we celebrate baptisms on Sunday, August 27th.  The baptism service will be after the morning service at the Johnson’s river lot located across the Jay St. bridge at Riverview Park.  Also, our next New Members Class will be starting in September. Those interested in becoming a member at Big Woods are invited to participate.  Click here to learn more.
