What to Expect When You Visit

Thank you for considering Big Woods as a place to worship! We know this is not an easy decision, so we want to offer you information to help in every way possible as you connect with us and, far more importantly, with the Lord this weekend. Our mission at Big Woods is simple – Love God and Love People.  And when we say we love people, that means it doesn’t matter who you are, what you have been through, or where you are at in life, we want you to know you will be welcomed and loved at Big Woods. I hope you’ll take a look at the information below to prepare for your visit with us. God bless!

With Much Grace,
Pastor Tim & Wendy Boger

We understand visiting a church for the first time can be an intimidating thought.  We want to help you know what to expect and ease your mind before you visit.  We want you to know you are more that a visitor, you are our guest.  Our services have a time of singing, prayer, and preaching of the Word.  Our music varies from modern praise choruses all the way to great hymns of the faith.  Don’t worry, no one is going to put you on the spot and ask you to read, give your testimony, or even sing a solo.  We think you’ll find the atmosphere of our services to be warm and engaging.  So sit back, and be blessed.

At Big Woods, we have all types of people from all types of backgrounds.  Some people dress up, others are very casual.  Honestly, we’re a lot less concerned with the clothes on your back than we are the condition of your heart.  Come as you are.  Our main goal is you feel like a welcomed guest at our services.

Kids are important at Big Woods.  We work hard to provide a safe and fun atmosphere for our kids to learn.  A separate and secure nursery and toddler room is provided for babies and little ones up to three years of age in all our services.  A Children’s Church is available for elementary age kids during the worship service.  For Sunday school, children go to the secure children’s wing for graded classes from preschool – 5th grade.  Teens attend a middle school or high school class depending on their grade in school.  Teens also meet at our Navigate gatherings during the week – high school on Sunday nights at 6:30 and middle school on Wednesday nights at 6:30.  All of our volunteer staff are carefully screened and undergo a background check.  We use a kiosk check-in system to securely check your child in and out of classrooms.

If you have further questions, please feel free to contact the church office or email our Associate Pastor, Joshua Hamilton today.
