THIS WEEK’S TEXT: “Serving: A Joy that Draws Us Together” Mark 10:43-45, 1 Peter 4:10-11 and 1 Corinthians 12:12-26
Taught by: Pastor Tim Boger

SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
Jesus Continued: This theologically based class will be based off the book “Jesus Continued” by JD Greear and will focus on pneumatology which is the study of the Holy Spirit. Join Daniel Nauta this week as he leads the class in Classroom 1.
Priorities: This class will focus on our priorities, looking at why we do what we do and how we manage/schedule our days. Pastor Robbie will be leading this class in Classroom 4 as he aims to teach the importance of having a biblical approach to our time.
Church 101 Q&A: As we go through the Church 101 series in our Sunday Morning Worship time, questions may arise. This class will be formatted as a question and answer time where the questions that you have can be submitted on Sunday and discussed during Sunday School. There will be a QR code on your bulletin on Sunday Morning that you can scan and then submit your questions anonymously. After the service, during Sunday School we will sit down and dialogue through your questions together, diving deeper into God’s Word. Be sure to submit your questions on Sunday and join Pastor Tim after the service. (MPR)

WOMEN’S PRAYER MEETING
The next Ladies’ Prayer Gathering will be Saturday, July 8th, from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Come and be blessed by yet another personal story of a life saved by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Saturday prayer is an intimate time of blessing and joy…and even includes coffee and sweets!

AWANA EXPLORATION MEETING
As you heard Pastor Stuart announce on Sunday, we are looking into a mid-week Children's Ministry, specifically AWANA. The tentative plan would be to offer a mid-week Children's ministry for 2 years old through 5th grade, on a weekly basis. As he stressed, we cannot do this without the help from volunteers which is why there will be an exploratory meeting on July 9th (between service and Sunday School) for anyone interested in volunteering for this ministry. If you’d like to read more about this ministry, click here!

“LIVE YOUR TRUTH AND OTHER LIES” BIBLE STUDY
The Women’s Study will not meet Monday, July 3rd or Tuesday, July 4th. The class will resume the following week as they pick up on chapters 5 and 6. Women’s Ministry is continuing their summer study on Alisa Childer’s book “Live Your Truth and Other Lies: Exposing Popular Deceptions that Make Us Anxious, Exhausted, and Self Centered.” To learn more about the study, click here! The class is running every Monday evening from 6:30 – 8:00pm and Tuesday morning from 10:30am – 12:00pm (childcare provided) To sign up for the study, click here!

PRAYER GATHERING
Join us on Wednesday, July 12th at 6:30 p.m. for our next Prayer Gathering with a potluck before starting at 5:30pm. Our prayer gatherings will be every other Wednesday and will be one of the ways we can bear one another’s burdens as we seek to faithfully follow Jesus together.

THIRD SUNDAY SUMMER GATHERING
As you know, Big Woods is hosting Third Sunday Summer Gatherings all throughout the summer and our next gathering is on July 16th at Riverview Park following a sweet time of celebrating lives committed to Christ though an outdoor baptism. Just like the last gathering in June, the church is going to provide hotdogs and hamburgers, but as the Young Adults host, they ask that that you please sign up for only ONE thing to bring as this gathering will include a food contest! You may choose to bring an appetizer, side, OR dessert item to share with others and enter the competition. Only dishes/names signed up will be entered into the competition on a first come first served basis, so be sure to sign up! Drinks will not be judged, but feel free to get creative! There will be some prizes awarded in the categories of taste, creativity, uniqueness, and more, so be sure to bring your A-game. You can sign up by clicking here!

OUTDOOR BAPTISM
There will be a baptism on Sunday, July 16th at Riverview Park. If you are interested in being baptized, please contact the church office at (570) 893-8274 or email Haylee at hayleec@bigwoods.org

BOOK OF THE MONTH
"Jesus Continued" by J.D. Greear is the June book of the month! This book takes deeper look at the ministry of the Holy Spirit, what the Holy Spirit does in the life of a Christian. J.D. Greear has a great subtitle to his book which is “Why the Spirit Inside You is Better Than Jesus Beside You.” He bases this subtitle in the passage from Scripture when Jesus is speaking to his disciples in John 16. We welcome you to grab this book from our bookshelf as well as join Pastor Aaron in his Sunday School class about this book. To hear Pastor Aaron share more about this book, click here!

NURSING HOME DONATIONS
A need has been expressed by two Lock Haven long term care facilities for weekly bingo prizes because many of their residents look forward to these games and prizes. We have a container in the lobby to collect items that are in NEW CONDITION. To see a list of these items, click here!
