This Week's Need to Know!

“Is Anything Too Hard for the Lord” Genesis 18:1-21
Taught by: Pastor Robbie Mays

Bible From the Ground Up: As Christians, it's crucial to cultivate a desire for reading the Bible. Yet, many of us often feel overwhelmed by various factors. However, delving into the Bible allows us to intimately know God—what a privilege! In this class, my aim is to enhance our reading and comprehension of God's Word. To achieve this goal, we will adopt two approaches: first, a comprehensive overview focusing on creating a structured reading plan, understanding the nature of the Bible, and its composition; second, a detailed examination of interpreting and comprehending specific passages of Scripture. This week’s topic is “The Make Up of Scripture” and the class will be led by Pastor Aaron. (Classroom 2)
Surviving Religion 101: Whether it is through social media, college, or simply life, young adults face many questions and challenges to their faith. These questions are not without answers. Pastor Robbie and Pastor Stuart are leading high school and college students through this discussion-based study of scripture and the book titled, “Surviving Religion 101” by Michael Kruger. We worship a God who is big enough for our questions and loving enough to care for us in our doubts. This class will meet downstairs in the Youth Room.
Genesis Q&A: This class will be formatted as a question-and-answer time where the questions that you have can be submitted on Sunday and discussed during Sunday School. There will be a QR code on your bulletin on Sunday Morning that you can scan and then submit your questions anonymously. After the service, during Sunday School we will sit down and dialogue through your questions together, diving deeper into God’s Word. Be sure to submit your questions on Sunday and join Pastor Robbie after the service. (MPR)

Our March Book of the Month is Forgiven by Tim Chester. We live in uncertain times. Our society is changing rapidly and many of us feel left behind. How can we face the future with confidence?
In these resurrection meditations that prepare us for Easter, Tim Chester reassures our fearful hearts by pointing us to the Lord Jesus and his finished work. Guiding us through the later chapters of Hebrews, these devotions remind us that, when everything around us is turning and churning, we can fix our eyes on Jesus, the anchor of our souls. This short devotional style book, Forgiven, reminds us of what Jesus accomplished on the cross!

Psalm 78:4 says, “Tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lᴏʀᴅ.” To this end, we have added to our recommended books a kid's section! We are convinced that books are among the greatest tools at our disposal to help us “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6). So, we've added intentionally selected books that are biblically faithful and help us teach our younger minds. These books teach big truths about God in age-appropriate ways. They are simple without being simplistic and show the beauty of the gospel. These books will remind our children—and ourselves as we read them—to set their hope in God.
Whether you are looking for gospel saturated bedtime reading, something to read around the dinner table, or just something fun to read, these books are available to you! You may borrow them by checking them out or keep them for a donation to help us keep good books on the shelf! Take up and read and may we faithfully teach the next generation.
