PRAYER POINTS
Every other Wednesday evening the Elders meet for several hours to pray for the body and seek wisdom as they strive to lead and shepherd the body at Big Woods according to the Word of God.  Last evening some of the pressing needs and prayer points that they are asking for you to pray alongside them can be found [by clicking] here.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
For your consideration, the following individuals have applied for membership: Eugene and Linda Beyer, Adam and Rachel Krick, Matt Geisewite, Evan and Amanda Geisewite, Jared and Jill Sims, Ron and Sherry Haffley.  Please pray and express your desires to the Elders.  We will officially welcome them into membership on Sunday, September 12.

NAVIGATE RESTART
Navigate youth ministry is starting a new year this coming week.  High school students will be gathering on Sundays starting September 5 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.  Middle school students will be gathering on Wednesdays starting September 8 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.  We look forward to meeting our new 6th and 9th graders in their respective groups.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS
The Bible is clear on what we are to do when we come together, but what about how we are to relate to one another? Sixty times in the Bible, we are instructed on how we are to treat one another. In this new Sunday School class, Living out the One Another Commands, we will look at these commands to see how we can follow them together!  This class will start on September 12 and will be held in the church sanctuary.

HOME GROUPS
Here at Big Woods, one of the ways we seek to keep our growing body small is through home groups. Home groups are small groups of people meeting in homes, encouraging one another in their walk with Christ by talking about the Bible and praying for one another. This year, we are making an exciting change: instead of meeting every week, home groups will meet every other week! We plan to start meeting the week of September 12th.  Please sign up [by clicking] here.

 PRAYER GATHERING
Starting September 22nd, we will be having a Wednesday evening prayer gathering. We will start at 6:30 and worship through song, have a devotional, then spend time praying for the people and needs within our body! At our first gathering, we will have a potluck from 5:30-6:30 to enjoy table fellowship with one another first. This prayer gathering will be every other Wednesday and will be one of the ways we can bear one another’s burdens as we seek to faithfully follow Jesus together.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY FELLOWSHIP (BSF)
Starting on Tuesday, September 14, BSF will meet here at Big Woods from 9:30-11:00 a.m. every Tuesday through May and will be studying the whole book of Matthew.  The discussion group will be led by Kari Hensler.  If you are unable to make it at this time, another group will meet Tuesday evenings (starting September 14) from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Great Island church.  That group will be led by Suzanne Camerer.  For more information please contact Kari  (karilhensler@yahoo.com) or Suzanne (suzannehcamerer@yahoo.com).
