This Week’s Need to Know – 03/08/2018

This Sunday, we’re back into the book of Jonah where we will clearly see the sovereignty of God on display.  A couple of weeks ago, Pastor Tim shared with us how God not only calms storms, but sometimes He creates them.  This Sunday, Pastor Josh will continue to develop that thought as we see the results of God’s storm.  Make sure you join us this Sunday as we continue to learn from Jonah, the minor prophet with a major message.

This Saturday night, March 10, at 6:00, the 2018 Guatemala Team will be hosting our annual auction.  We have some incredible items available this year.  Make sure you visit our auction page online to see many of the items up for bid.  Also, like and share our Facebook photo album to help us spread the word through social media.  Doors will open at 5:30 PM.  Light snacks will be available as well.  Payments may be made by cash, check, or credit/debit card.  All proceeds help offset the airline costs for our 2018 Guatemala Missions Team.

Pastor Aaron and Brianna are leading a team of students from Lock Haven University over Spring Break to help with disaster relief.  Along with Norm Hale who is already on site and working, please keep the following students in your prayers: Kasey Cole, Alyssa Felty, Evan Geisewite, Amanda Herr, Chauntel Kyle, Daniel Nauta, Devon Richardson, Sharon Valerio, Luke Vandament, and Logan Wilson.  Please pray for safety in travel and that the team will be a blessing and encouragement in meeting the ongoing needs in Puerto Rico.

You’ve probably been wondering about the announcements saying we need 40 people to help with our welcome team ministry.  If so, then please make sure you sign up for a special introductory luncheon that will help you understand the importance of this ministry and the vision we have to give people our best impression first.  There are several areas where can serve and anyone can be involved.  It may be as simple as opening a door or handing out a bulletin, or you may be purposefully looking for opportunities to start conversations with guests to help make them feel welcome.  If you’d like to know more, please contact  Jenn Braun or Lynel Gaunt.   If interested, please click this Eventbrite link to sign up.  Use the password welcome to access the event and register your attendance.
