This Week’s Need to Know – 02/22/2018

You’re invited to a special night of prayer for the Keystone Central School District. It is common knowledge that there are significant fiscal issues facing our community, specifically our school district. These challenges are affecting people in the administration, the teachers, and even the future of Clinton county, the students. As believers, we know God works when His people pray. That’s why we want to encourage you to take part in a special night of prayer focused on our schools. It will begin at 7:00 PM on Monday evening, February 26, at Big Woods Bible Church located at 120 Logan Ave in Castanea. All are welcome. For more information, please contact the church office at (570) 893-8274.

Would you like to be a part of a ministry that helps people form a lasting good impression of Big Woods Bible Church?  Do you like to meet new people?  Then we have an incredible opportunity for you.  We’re looking for 40 people to begin preparing to be a part of our welcome team in our new building.  We need people to hold doors, hand out bulletins, engage in purposeful conversations – all this and much more to welcome the guests that are a part of our services each week.  This team is an incredibly important ministry.  If this sounds like a place you would like to serve, contact Jenn Braun or Lynel Gaunt.  There will also be a special lunch for those interested on Sunday, March 18.  If interested, please click this Eventbrite link to sign up.  Use the password “welcome” to access the event and register your attendance.

The 2018 Guatemala Team will be hosting a benefit auction on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 6:00 PM.  Please see Yuri Rosypal or Jess Hall if you have items to donate toward the auction.  Make sure to visit our auction page on our website to see what items will be available.  This page will be updated as items come in.  Also, share our Facebook Event Page to let people know this event is happening soon.  Thank you for supporting our 2018 team!

It’s almost time for this year’s Navigate Sprinter Retreat for high school students.  This year’s retreat will be held on March 23-25 at the Timberwind Lodge.  The cost per student is $65, with a $20 discount for each additional student within the same family.  If cost is an issue, or if you have any questions, please contact Pastor Stuart.  The deadline to sign up is Sunday, March 18.
