This Sunday brings us to the conclusion of our series on The Five Solas – What Big Woods Believes. And it is fitting that the conclusion brings us to the ultimate reason for our worship, our lives, even our very existence as a local body of Christ. That reason is Soli Deo Gloria – to the glory of God alone. Philippians 2:9-11 says, “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” God’s glory is the ultimate end of everything that happens. The idea of, how will this glorify God, should constantly be on our mind and the driving force for how we live our lives. Join us on Sunday as we share in the spectacular reminder of our God’s glory.
Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory,
for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!
YOU CAN HELP US CONTINUE TO BE A FRIENDLY CHURCH
Research shows that guests make up their mind about a church within the first 10 minutes of their visit. Think about that. That’s before they hear the pastor. That’s before they hear the worship. That may even be before they’ve found their seat! If this is true, then some of the most important people our guests will meet will be those that purposefully welcome them, assess their needs, show them what we have to offer, and most importantly, who we are. If you would like to be a part of this vital ministry, please contact either Jenn Braun or Lynel Gaunt for more information.
Jump in with Navigate at Williamsport’s FlyWorld! The youth will be headed there this Saturday, February 17. Gather at Big Woods Bible Church at 2:15 pm. Cost is $15/student. A waiver from FlyWorld must be completed for your kids to participate. They can be filled out online by clicking here. Use Jump ID 91468 to complete this form. Contact Pastor Stuart if you have any questions.
