Bible from the Ground Up – Lesson 1

Reading the Bible can be a daunting task. Maybe that’s why 23% of Christians never read their Bible according to Barna Research. But when Jesus says man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Father (Matthew 4:4), this does not make sense. So what do we do? It starts with finding the time to read the Bible. That might mean making time by cutting something out or waking up a little earlier to spend time in the word. Next, find a plan. Plans help with the discipline aspect of it because you know where you will be reading on a daily basis. Thirdly, find something to meditate on. Don’t just read to check a box, read to fill your heart and mind with God’s word so that you can live according to it.
